::EXPO 1.9:: First Look!

Hello Crafty Miners and welcome to a new post series that will look at new items and blocks that are coming to Minecraft and the World of RAAR. Just like the World's Fair Expositions, we will show you the possibilities for the future. It's an exciting time and we have a lot of new things to show you from the latest 1.9 snapshot... the first in almost a year! So let's get to it.

Our first look is at several new building blocks coming your way. The Purpur block has a pinkish/purple stone texture and comes in half slabs and stairs.

There is also a pillar block variation on the pinkish block and can be placed just like logs and quartz pillars.

End Stone Bricks are now a thing as well.

The End Rod is a curious item. It can be placed in any direction and omits smokey wisps. The rods also produce light which could prove useful in future builds.

You can now mount a dragon head on the wall. Just like player/mob heads, this item can be placed wherever you desire.

There are now a variety of arrows that can be used. Each one offers a different enchantment such as swiftness. These will be nice for decoration.

More food can also be found and produced. These include Beetroot and Chorus Fruit

There is now growth in the End. The Chorus plant and flower are purplish plants that only will grow on end stone. The Chorus plant is just the stalk of the Chorus flower. It can be placed on each other to create unique designs, however if the stalks are placed side by side they will break like cactus. The Chorus flower will grow and split its stalk until the flower turns into a pod.

Lastly, iron bars and single block glass planes have received an update as well. The texture of the iron bars now includes a top and bottom plate. The single iron bar and pane of glass appears as a long single block. This could prove useful on future builds but might mess up some of the older designs.

We hope you have enjoyed this brief look at the new items and blocks that will be coming in 1.9. Be sure to check back for more Expo 1.9 updates and until we meet again... Happy Crafting!

-SPOTLIGHT- Stoney Mountain Campground

Welcome back! With the summer in full swing, we thought it would be fitting to Spotlight one of the areas within the Stoney Mountain National Park.

Located just south of the town of Whistlestop lies the Stoney Mountain. When exploring this area, SammyMacman came upon a perfect place to settle for the night. With a wonderful view of the mountain and majestic shady woodlands, he decided that the mountain and surrounding area should be shared by all. Upon returning to Jursammic Park, Sammy sat down with his engineering and construction leads to design the development of the new park.

One of the first layouts included a campground designated for vacationers to set up a tent next to a roaring fire and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the region. There various sizes of camp sites to accommodate different sizes of tents and large or small groups. Outhouses are also strategically placed so campers don't have to venture far into the woods and risk getting eaten by a zombie.

We hope you have enjoyed this brief look at the Stoney Mountain Campground. Be sure to check back soon as we will continue the summer fun by exploring more of this incredible park. Thank you for your likes and comments. We read and share all of them. Take care Crafty Miners and until we meet again... Happy Crafting!

- CONNECTIONS - Jursammic Park Train Station

Welcome to another edition of Connections where this month we visit the Jursammic Park Train Station.

Located just on the outskirts of Grimshire, the Jursammic Park Train Station stands like a pinnacle above the grassy knolls and open fields that surround it. Originally built to house the rail connection between Imperial City and Jursammic Park, the train station has been expanded, renovated and upgraded several times in its recent past.

The first major upgrade was to the interior layout. With the invention of teleporters, individual kiosks were installed within the station to allow quick access to distant locales and kingdoms. The help desk and lounge were also relocated to a separate wing to allow space for the new teleportation areas.

More renovations followed as the number of teleporter kiosks increased, the map room was added and the Nether Portal was incorporated into the design. Color coordination was also added to differentiate kiosks between the different kingdoms. For example, the red kiosk section is reserved for all international destinations, whereas the grey section is reserved for all Jursammic Park teleporter locations.

The last major upgrade happened only a few short months ago when the amount of teleporter kiosks overwhelmed the current space allocations. Recognizing this as a problem that would continue to arise, SammyMacman had his construction company, Sam Co., design and renovate the facility to include multiple floors available for more kiosks to be added in the future.

Despite the ease of the teleporter technology, it is important to note that original train connections are still active and are currently in use. Proving that sometimes the journey itself is more important then the speed it takes to get from point A to point B.

Thank you Crafty Miners for your support of the World of RAAR. We aim to continue to bring to you new lore stories and fantastic builds that hopefully will inspire you in your own creations. Hope you all are having a wonderful summer and until we meet again, Happy Crafting!
